Meet our lobby and advocacy partners
Aliénor
Aliénor is a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy specialising in monitoring EU institutional activities and providing tailored advocacy support. On behalf of the European Anglers Alliance (EAA) and the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFTTA), Aliénor is primarily responsible for relations with the European Parliament, including the monitoring of legislative and political developments relevant to recreational fisheries and aquaculture.
Since 2014, Aliénor has created and runs the European Parliament Forum on Recreational Fisheries and the Aquatic Environment (RecFishing Forum), an informal discussion platform bringing together Members of the European Parliament, EU stakeholders, scientists, and sector representatives. With the support of EAA and EFTTA, the Forum organises briefings and events at the European Parliament to raise awareness of the environmental, social, and economic implications of EU policy decisions for recreational angling.
Through the RecFishing Forum, Aliénor also coordinates the Blue & Green Newsletter, which provides updates on recreational fisheries and aquatic environment issues relevant to EU decision-makers.
EFTTA
The European Fishing Tackle & Trade Association
EFTTA is EAA’s long-standing strategic partner in Brussels. EAA and EFTTA cooperate closely on EU public affairs and jointly support professional lobbying activities to represent the shared interests of recreational angling and the European tackle trade. Building on this cooperation, EAA and EFTTA are currently intensifying their collaboration to unite the European angling community – anglers and industry alike – and maximise their collective impact at EU level.
While the European Anglers Alliance (EAA) represents the interests of recreational anglers at European level and beyond, the European Fishing Tackle Trade Association (EFTTA) represents the European recreational angling and fishing tackle industry.
Since 1996, EAA and EFTTA have maintained a close cooperation on matters of common interest, particularly in the fields of environment and fisheries policy, and jointly co-fund a professional public affairs office and coordinated representation in Brussels.
Living Rivers Europe
Living Rivers Europe is a coalition of European environmental organisations working to protect and restore free-flowing rivers and healthy freshwater ecosystems.
The European Anglers Alliance (EAA) cooperates with Living Rivers Europe on water policy, river restoration, and biodiversity files, including advocacy related to the Water Framework Directive, hydromorphology, and nature restoration. Through this collaboration, EAA contributes the perspective of recreational anglers to joint policy positions, open letters, and stakeholder dialogue, ensuring that sustainable angling and river conservation objectives are aligned.
